Olga Ospina is the weeknight news co-anchor for KION 46 News at 5:00.
A graduate from UCLA, Olga began her television career in 1997 as a local news reporter in southern California’s
Inland Empire. The southern California native (who is fluent in Spanish) also anchored the daily newsmagazine show
“At the Edge of The News”, for KWHY-TV in Los Angeles. She reported on a variety of topics, from hard news
to entertainment, interviewed celebrities and provided live coverage for special events such as the Grammy
Awards. During her tenure, Olga also served as a substitute anchor on the station’s 7 and 10 o’clock newscasts.
Olga worked as a financial news anchor, writing and presenting financial media reports and international news for
the live daily business newscast “Biz News One” in Los Angeles. Prior to joining the KION 46 news team, Olga
anchored FOX news in the Quad Cities, (running through Illinois and Iowa), the Univision affiliate newscasts in Salt
Lake City, Utah and Amarillo, Texas, as well as NBC and ABC affiliates in Montana.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Olga is excited to be back in her home state and is looking forward to being part
of the community here on the beautiful Central Coast.
In her spare time, Olga enjoys watching movies, traveling, outdoor activities such as roller-blading and bike riding,
and spending time at the beach - which she can now fully enjoy as a new resident to the gorgeous Monterey
Peninsula. This animal lover is the proud “mother” of a Maltese puppy and dedicates her time to helping
organizations in the fight against animal abuse
