Marta was born in 1525.  Marta's father was Francisco Ochoa-de Olarte and her mother was Maria Saenz.  Her maternal grandparents were Iñigo Hernandez-de Ugarte and Catalina de Castillo.  She had three brothers and a sister, named Diego, Iñigo, Sebastian and Catalina.  She was the youngest of the five children.
